WEEK 9
Today is week nine of are final class. I can’t believe how fast the quarter went by. We started at 12:30 and started with are last trends/fashion news. Then after that we went into the chapters presentations. Finally we did evaluations and were on our way out the door. The good thing is next week we will turn in all of our work and have no final! Plus we will have a little ‘party” to celebrate the end of the quarter and Frenchye’s last class teaching at school.

Week 8 Part 2 Fashion Show
Where did all the time all go? Honestly it came by to quick. I woke up around 6:30, honestly I was going to wake up at 5:45 but I couldn’t sleep the night before. With mixed emotions of excitement and nervousness, with a pinch of my cat being a brat, it was hard to wake up early. I ran out the door at 7:30 and went up to Starbucks to get a Pumpkin Spice coffee. It didn’t take me long to realize that I forgot the model release forms on the kitchen table. I drove back home and soon I was back on the highway. While getting to the venue, I got lost (even using the GPS). Thank God Bri answered her phone and told me how to get there. Finally I was there, and at this rate this was only the beginning of my day. By the time the venue opened it was chaos. There were racks being set up, runway, manikins and different tables of jewelry assortment. I was working on that and trying to take attendance of what models were here and have them sign release forms. Soon enough it was an hour away from show time. I was trying to see how the models would walk and in my head I was freaking out about doing commentary. Also I it was the first time my boyfriend Josh’s mother and my mother would meet. My mom can sometimes be intense, I know she means well and I love my mom but sometimes she can really be intense. Also the first time my boyfriends mother, Josh, My friend Lisa, Josh’s neighbor who is good friends with his mom Devy, My Mother, and little cousin Katie Ann get to see me talk about something that I have been studying for about two years. I was really reluctant to do commentary because of being stress because are Mom’s are meeting for the first time and I don’t like public speaking, I get very nervous. As Alana volunteered, I asked her if she could do it all by herself, she said she could but would feel better if someone was up there. Me being a person who has compassion for people felt bad and gave in. Going back to the show I was going through a thousand things in my head when my teacher came up to me. She knew about what was going on with the meeting stuff and she gave me words of encouragement. ‘You are a smart, beautiful, talented young girl, and any boys mother would be lucky to have you.” It took me a second to realize that was one of the nicest things that a teacher has ever told me. That really meant a lot to me and I will always remember that for the rest of my life. I quickly whispered thank you and clam down. It’s hard to develop a relationship with your boyfriends mother when you barley see her. I know Josh always sees my mom because he works and recently just moved into his own apartment out on the west side. So I invited her to this show so she could get to know me , see what I do, and how I can deliver of all my years of learning about fashion into a show. I heard from Josh that she and her friend Devy really enjoyed themselves at the show. Plus her and my mom got along great. They even hugged when my mom was leaving. Next I am looking for something else we ( Josh’s mom and I) can do that will makes know each other and bond more. Going back to the show, after we had practice, we had to finish getting all the models ready. After all the models were ready, the perk about being a commentary. After that the show went underway and it was fantastic I couldn’t be anymore proud of my class, teacher, models, Dress for Success and Ten Thousand Villages.
Week 8
Today is week 8 which means it is one more day before the show. We got together in a group and discussed what needs to be done and what has to be done. Also we went over some of the garments and what the lineup was going to be for tomorrow. At the same time Alana and I were trying to figure who was going to say what. I am little nervous about speaking tomorrow. Especially in front of my family and friends. Hopefully all goes well.

Week 7
This week was the seventh week of Fashion Show Production class. What a week it has been. With loosing 8 models and a agency it has been crazy. Lucky we know a couple people that could model for us. Other than that it has been okay. We picked out clothes today for the models. They will be wearing two outfits to change into. Well we have one more week until the show!!!
Week 6
This week was the sixth week of Fashion Show Production class. Today was the big day for the talent coordinator. That’s right it was Model Call Day! I do not think I was stressed out as much I was today. From making sure the applications were all there, score cards and the models being all present. We had about 12 models and all of them got excepted which makes my job so much easy! I am about to tell all the lucky 12 ladies that welcome aboard to the fashion show! That’s all for now, 2 weeks and counting for the fashion show.

WEEK 5
This week was the fifth week of Fashion Show Production class. Today we got to go to Dress for Success and pick out clothes. Our Teacher Frenchye couldn’t join us because she was in a friends wedding all the way in Chicago. So Mr. Molloy was our teacher today. We had to wait to be buzzed in and we couldn’t go up and meet with Melody. Finally what seemed like a life time we finally got in. First she showed us around Dress for Success, then she showed us the wardrobe that they have out on the floor. Then after that she showed us our wardrobe that we will be using in the show. We presented our blogs, Chelsea’s Chapter 5 notes, and took our test. After that was when all the fun began. We started to be like shoppers and pick out clothing and try it on. Honestly I could say we are living every girls dream.

Week 4
This week was the fourth week of Fashion Show Production class. Today was also a busy day. First off we started like we do most days with our trends and fashion news blogs. Then we started to take notes on chapters 3 and 4. Then we got down to business. We went over our Calendar for the next 30 days of what needs to be done and due. There is so much to be due and done that its making my head spin. Only now have 29 days until the show!
